The Eighth Annual Sonnhalter Tool Drive Starts Now!

Today is August 1st, at Sonnhalter it’s basically a holiday because it’s the start of our annual tool drive to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity does fantastic work building and rehabbing homes for those who need them in an effort to eliminate homelessness and substandard housing. I’m amazed year after year at the work this fantastic organization does and the support that we receive for this tool drive from our clients, vendors, partners, community and even strangers!

Our Tool Drive was born in 2010 when the Sonnhalter team wanted to do something and contacted Habitat for Humanity about sending the team to help build a home. At the time, there was a waiting list to go build a home, so we asked the question that started it all, “What else can we do?” The answer was a tool drive. Now in its eighth year, our Tool Drive collected $20,000 worth of donations, bringing the total since 2010 to nearly $200,000 worth of tools, building materials, appliances and other items.

Hosting an annual tool drive just makes sense for us since we work with companies who make products for tradesmen. Everything donated is put to use either building homes or sold at a ReStore location. Everything sold at Habitat’s ReStores supports building and rehabilitating homes for people who need them.

Be a part of this year’s Tool Drive!

It’s really easy to get involved. Clean out your tool box, workbench or garage and clear out those duplicate tools. Check out your extra inventory or discontinued products and consider donating them. Or get your team on board and do some kind of fundraising activity together and send the proceeds in.
